Fueling Growth with the Right Talent: Combe Inc.’s Transition to D2C

Challenge:

Combe Incorporated, traditionally a retail-focused company, was venturing into the direct-to-consumer (D2C) space and needed to build a robust eCommerce team. The company, located in White Plains, struggled to find exceptional talent who were strategically capable and execution-oriented, and who were either open to commuting or already located in the area.

Approach:

Chameleon Recruiting was engaged to help Combe build their eCommerce team. The first step was to recruit an eCommerce Technical Project Manager. The Chameleon team conducted in-depth research to understand the technical skills required for the role, and sourced over 120 candidates, eventually narrowing down to four exceptional candidates from various industries. Furthermore, Combe requested assistance in hiring a Senior Manager of Email/CRM. Chameleon leveraged its network, reaching out to 60+ candidates. The pool was reduced to seven highly-qualified professionals, leading to the hiring of a candidate that perfectly aligned with Combe’s cultural and growth needs.

Impact:

Chameleon’s expertise in recruitment led to the successful placement of key roles within Combe’s new eCommerce team. The Technical Project Manager has been instrumental in Combe’s growth, and both parties have expressed satisfaction with the placement. The strategic talent acquisition has empowered Combe to efficiently navigate their transition into the D2C space, promising a strong foundation for future growth.
